Radiators · Liverpool & Knowsley
Cold radiator, leaking valve or a rad that never warms up? Paul finds out why and puts it right.
A cold or leaking radiator is one of those jobs people put up with for months. It is usually a quick fix once you know the cause, and Paul knows the cause. Air, sludge, a stuck valve or a failed thermostatic head all show up differently, and 40 years means he reads them fast.
Whether it needs bleeding, balancing, a new valve, a flush or a whole new radiator, Paul sorts it, and because he is Gas Safe registered the boiler side of your heating is covered too.
Cold and leaking rads
01
Cold at the top or the bottom?
Cold at the top usually means trapped air and just needs bleeding. Cold at the bottom usually means sludge and needs a flush. Paul checks which it is.
02
Leaks traced to the source
A weeping valve, a corroded rad or a bad joint each need a different fix. Paul finds where the water is actually coming from before touching anything.
03
Fixed and checked warm
Bled, balanced, valve replaced or radiator swapped, then checked it is heating evenly and not leaking.
No surprises
A typical job
A bedroom radiator is cold at the bottom no matter how many times it gets bled. Paul confirms it is full of sludge, flushes it out, checks the valve and thermostatic head are working, and balances it against the others. The room finally heats properly and the radiator earns its keep again.
A fair fixed price, agreed with Paul before he starts. No call-out fee bolted on the end, no hidden extras. If a job turns out bigger than it looked, he stops and tells you first.

Straight answers
That is the classic sign of sludge building up in the bottom of the radiator. Bleeding will not fix it. It needs flushing out, which Paul can do.
Yes. A leaking valve is a common, quick job. Paul replaces the valve and checks the joint holds before he leaves.
Absolutely. Whether it is a corroded old rad or you just want a better-looking one, Paul can swap a single radiator without disturbing the rest.
Yes, Paul fits towel rails and adds radiators to rooms that need more heat as part of your heating system.
